Whats New ?

  • Major revamp on the Kelvin Asset structure with a new Kelvin Groups added to Device Type. Device Type now changed to Entity Type.
  • Documentation restructured to reflect Kelvin's three main product groups - Cloud Server, Kelvin Maps and Kelvin Copilot.
  • The themes for the documentation has been tweaked and improved to make titles and sections more clear and vibrant within the Kelvin color scheme.
  • A new "Was this Helpful?" feedback question has been put at the bottom of all pages.
  • A new Comments section has been put at the bottom of all pages to allow all users to interact and help.
  • Google analytics with GDPR compliance has been added to understand which document pages are most popular.
  • Search bar has been improved with search suggestions as you type.
  • When clicking on search link, the page will highlight all references to the searched word.
  • A "Back to Top" button now appears when scrolling long pages.
  • The tables in the documentation has been improved to be visually more pleasing and clear.
  • All tutorials from Documentation -> Kelvin Manager UI -> Video Tutorials page have been moved to a dedicated Tutorials section and the original page deleted.
  • Major restructure of the tutorials menu and layout. Tutorials now have a separate classification structure for easy searching.
  • Disabled XHR instant loading due to inconsistencies with the feedback question. To be reactivated in version 4.4 doc release.

Whats New ?

Here we give you the latest major updates for the Cloud Server

  • Integrations with AWS IoT SiteWise can now be created and managed through the Kelvin Manager UI
  • Assets, Asset Type and Asset Class pages been improved to show more information and to allow filtering of Kelvin Components, Kelvin Parts and Kelvin Sensors.
  • Assets Types and Asset Classes now can be defined to a Kelvin Asset, Kelvin Component, Kelvin Part and Kelvin Sensor. When creating any new Asset, only the relevant types will be selectable. (Note all existing Asset Types and Asset Classes are now defined as a Kelvin Asset)
  • ROC Data Types selectable now conform to the ROC standards.
  • Major documentation release for Cloud Server Overview and Kelvin Manager UI

Async Workload Deployment

  • Deployments of Workloads are now asynchronous which allows deploys to be scheduled if the Node is offline
  • Node and Workload status reporting is improved by using a more reliable TCP connection

  • Added support for capital letters on endpoint in the OPC UA Bridge UI
  • ROC Bridge UI protocol types are now compatible with ROC specification

Data Viewer

  • Improved page list to only show device types that are assets
  • Detail page now allows selecting chart data based on the asset hierarchy

Kelvin Manager: Device Types improvements

  • Asset Classes are now categorised by Device Type (Asset, Component, Part and Sensor)
  • Asset Class and Asset Type list page allows filtering by Device Type
  • Asset template page dropdowns for Asset Class and Type are automatically filtered based on Device Type
  • Asset editor page dropdown for Asset Type is automatically filtered based on Device Type

Kelvin Manager: Asset Page List improvements

  • Asset hierarchy is now available on the Asset page list
  • Search now shows full asset hierarchy
  • Search now maintains state between list view and hierarchy view
