Recommendations¶
Recommendations are generated from Kelvin SmartApp™ or from third party sources using the Kelvin API endpoint and will either be automatically accepted and implemented or wait for the Operations Engineers decision on the actions to take.
Recommendations can be accessed and controlled from many locations.
You can see how to view Recommendations from the different areas of the Kelvin UI
Assets Menu¶
There are two main locations that you can view Recommendations for Assets.
Asset-centric Table¶
If you customize the Asset-centric table columns, you can add a filtered Recommendations column.
Note
The default Asset-centric table does not show Recommendations in the column.
You can read the documentation on how to show Recommendation column here.

In the recommendations column you will see two types of options;
| Option | UI | Description |
|---|---|---|
| View More Button | ![]() |
This means that there is a pending Recommendation. Clicking will show a popup where you can accept/reject the pending Recommendation. |
| Details Link | This means that there are NO pending Recommendations. Clicking will show a popup with the last Recommendation details. |
When you click on the option, you will see the Recommendation appear inline below the Asset.
Note
Here you can see the most important information and perform the normal actions like accept/reject.

The left part of the inline Recommendation is a list of all the Recommendations for that Asset in chronological order.
Here you can select which Recommendation to view in the inline section to the right of this list.

The top right part of the inline Recommendation shows all the actions that will be taken if the recommendation is accepted.
It is possible to have multiple actions in one Recommendation.
This will also give you information about the current setting when the Recommendation was created as well as the Recommended new setting.
The actions are not just limited to Control Changes but can also be one of the following;
Warning
Even if a Recommendation is accepted, this does not mean the Actions will also succeed. It just means the Actions are initiated.
There may be cases where a Recommendation is accepted and highlighted green, but the Control Change fails, for example due to Guardrail rule violation, and is highlighted Red.
- Control Changes
- Send Emails and Alerts (using Custom Actions)
- Create Alarms (future feature)

The bottom right part of the inline Recommendation shows all the shows the evidences attached to the Recommendation.
Evidence are attachments to the recommendation that provide comprehensive information to Operations, enabling informed decision-making.
If evidence is attached, it can include one or more items in various formats, such as bar or line charts, dynacards, images and even IFrames to external websites.

You can also click on the popup icon to see the full details of the Recommendation.
